CARRE NOIX
Chocolate Walnut Cake III
World Traditional Recipe スイス

Swiss style chocolate cake. Sift together flour, sugar and cocoa powder, stir in beaten eggs and melted chocolate, then mix in melted butter and walnuts. We use dark or sweet chocolate in this recipe, but if it is not available, you can use milk chocolate. A freshly baked one tastes good, of course, and a cooled one tastes even better with a smooth, moist texture.

Melt chocolate over low heat or by double boiling.

Lightly roast walnuts in the oven, then chop roughly.

Place sifted dry ingredients in a bowl. Stir in beaten eggs and melted chocolate, in that order, and blend well. (Photo #1)

Stir in melted butter and mix lightly.

Fold in walnuts and mix well until smooth. (Photo #2)

Fill a square mold with the batter to a depth of 2 cm - 3 cm. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 °C (356 °F) for about 25 - 30 minutes until brown. (Photo #3)

Cut into small bricks.
