Swiss style cookies, also called “COEUR D'ANGE,” meaning “Angel Heart.” With the pale dough and confectioners’ sugar on top, they will look like angel’s hearts.

Cream together butter and sugar. Blend well. (Photo #1)

Beat in egg white and mix until smooth.

Mix in sifted flour/almond powder mixture and blend. (Photo #2)

Press the dough together and place in the refrigerator for an hour.

Lightly work the dough, then roll into 3cm balls between the palms of your hands.

Press each ball with your thumb to flatten. Then form into a heart shape. (Photo #3)

Bake in a preheated oven at 160 °C (320 °F) for 10 to 15 minutes until golden. (Photo #4)

After cooling, sprinkle with confectioners’ sugar generously.
