In a bowl, mix sugar and egg whites well with a hand mixer. (Photo #1)

Add flour and mix lightly.

Add almond slices and mix. (Photo #2)

Spoon and drop the dough onto a baking paper lined tray, and spread each drop into 3cm round, 5mm thick. (Photo #3)

Brush with beaten egg and sprinkle with confectioners’ sugar. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 °C (356 °F) for about 12 minutes until golden brown. (Photo #4)
