Swiss style dessert. ¡ÈMacedoine de fruits¡É means mixed cut fruit in French. The name ¡ÈMacedoine¡É derives from the name of the ancient kingdom Macedonia that conquered the surrounding nations in the 4th century BC, and a variety of dishes and confectionery made with mixed fruit or vegetables are named ¡ÈMacedoine¡É.

Soak gelatin in water*. (*not included in the ingredients list.) Follow the instructions on the gelatin package to determine the amount of water.

Remove skin and white pith from orange and grapefruit, then cut the flesh into bite size pieces. (Photo #1)

Combine water and sugar in a saucepan and place over heat. Heat until steam comes out.

Remove the saucepan from the heat. Add the soaked gelatin and dissolve. (Photo #2)

After cooling the mixture at room temperature, mix in orange liqueur and lemon juice.

Arrange the fruit in glasses. Fill each glass with the mixture 4/5 full. (Photo #3)

Refrigerate until firm.
