Swiss style cakes. Enjoy the combination of a crispy cookie bottom and a soft chocolate top. ¡ÈFours¡É refer to bite size baked confectionery in French, whereas bite size fresh confectionery are called ¡Èpetits fours frais¡É.

In a bowl, cream together butter and sugar.

Add water and blend well. (Photo #1)

Fold in the sifted dry ingredients and mix lightly. Pull the dough together into a ball. (Photo #2)

Cover with plastic wrap. Let it rest in the refrigerator for an hour.

Roll out the dough to 5mm thick and place it in a baking pan. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 ¡ëC (365 ¡ëF) for about 15 minutes until golden. (Photo #3)

¡üChocolate Batter

Chop chocolate.

Place cream in a bowl or saucepan. Place over heat and bring the cream to a boil. (Photo #1)

Add the chopped chocolate and melt.

When the chocolate batter is being cooled and becomes creamy, pour it over the baked cookie dough and make a thick chocolate layer.

Let chill in the refrigerator, then cut into 3cm squares. (Photo #1)

-Sift flour.
