Swiss style cookies, flavored with vanilla essence. Roll the dough into balls using your hands. Enjoy the mild taste with a rich vanilla flavor.

In a bowl, cream together butter and sugar. (Photo #1)

Mix in beaten egg yolk, vanilla essence and salt, in that order. (Photo #2)

Fold in flour and blend. Press the dough together to form a clump. (Photo #3)

Roll the dough into 2cm balls between the palms of your hands. (Photo #4)

Bake in a preheated oven at 180 °C (356 °F) for 12 – 15 minutes until brown.

After cooling, dust with confectioners’ sugar generously.
