Italian style cheese cookies. You can roll the cookies into small balls, or alternatively, you can form them into various shapes such as bars or patties, or cut out the dough with a cookie cutter. Make sure to let the dough rest in the refrigerator before shaping.

In a bowl, cream together butter, cream cheese and sugar.

Stir in egg yolk and flour, in that order, and blend. (Photo #1)

Place the dough in a plastic bag and let it rest in the refrigerator for about an hour. (Photo #2)

Roll the dough into 1cm balls between the palms of your hands. (Photo #3)

Bake in a preheated oven at 180 °C (365 °F) for 8 to 10 minutes until golden. (Photo #3)

After cooling, sprinkle with confectioners’ sugar generously.
