Swiss style cookies. This is a fairly standard cookie recipe. Traditionally, the dough should be kept refrigerated for about two hours. To save time, we skip this process in this recipe.

Place sifted flour mixture in a bowl. Break butter into small pieces into the bowl. (Photo #1)

Add sugar, then egg yolk, and rub the mixture using the palms of your hands until crumbly.

Knead the dough lightly. Press it together to form one clump. (Photo #2)

With your hands, shape the dough into leaves. (Photo #3)

Carve lines with a skewer as in the photo. (Photo #4)

Bake in a preheated oven or a toaster oven at 180 °C (356 °F) for about 10 minutes until golden.
